kCura Launches Relativity using Content Analyst

SuperUser Account posted on March 26, 2008 06:00

Press release, Reston, VA and Chicago, IL - March 26, 2008 - kCura and Content Analyst have announced a strategic  partnership to integrate Content Analyst’s ground-breaking conceptual search and advanced analytics technology into kCura’s innovative web-based litigation support platform, Relativity. The integrated solution is now available with the release of Relativity version 4.1.

“With Relativity, the goal has always been to provide our customers with an extremely powerful, yet easy-to-use solution,” said kCura CEO, Andrew Sieja. “We have long been impressed by the people and technology at Content Analyst. We are now happy to provide their advanced analytics to our customers through Relativity’s intuitive interface.”

“The new federal discovery guidelines have made it virtually impossible for law firms and their corporate clients to effectively review large amounts of ESI using traditional keyword and Boolean searches”, stated Kurt Michel, Content Analyst’s Vice-President of Sales,” Conceptual Search is rapidly becoming a ‘must have’ for service providers and corporate legal departments. The integration of the Content Analyst’s technology into Relativity will allow Relativity users to achieve greater efficiencies in the processing, review and analysis steps of the Discovery process. We are very excited about the opportunity to partner with the forward thinking team at kCura. We are looking forward to working with the kCura team to continue to provide Relativity users with a competitive advantage.”

The integrated solution allows users to leverage the power of combined keyword and conceptual searching. Users can submit terms, sentences, paragraphs, and entire documents through Relativity’s intuitive User Interface. This sophisticated search finds pertinent documents which other less advanced technologies routinely miss. Content Analyst’s conceptual search can even identify relevant information that should be included despite a lack of identified key terms; a feat impossible to achieve with traditional keyword search solutions.

Additional features enabled in Relativity through integration with Content Analyst include Conceptual Hit Highlighting and Keyword Expansion. Additionally, Concept Categorization gives users the ability to define exemplar documents, and lets Relativity cluster remaining documents in the system based on those user-defined categories. Finally, users have the ability to run a Near Duplicate algorithm that places similar documents into groups for analysis and coding.

Andrew Sieja further commented, “Advanced analytics and conceptual searching are feature enhancements that have been ardently driven by our clients. I am excited to be partnering with Content Analyst, and am enthused about what this partnership means for our clients.”
