Overview Computer-Assisted Review News

Relativity Assisted Review is the faster, more accurate way to review large volumes of electronic data.

By amplifying human expertise with powerful technology, you save time and money on your e-discovery review.

How does Assisted Review work?

Assisted Review uses search technology, called categorization, which allows users to teach Relativity how to determine whether a document is responsive or non-responsive.

Review teams begin by subjectively coding a sample set of documents. Based on those decisions, Relativity determines how the rest of the documents in a case should be marked. You then validate Relativity’s work by manually reviewing statistically relevant subsets of documents to ensure coding accuracy.

Because batches of documents categorized by Relativity are validated using statistics, you can be confident in your results.

How can I use Assisted Review to improve my review process?

You can decide how to best use the process to fit your team’s review needs:

  • As a method of prioritization to get to the most important documents faster.
  • As a QC tool to gauge the accuracy of a review.
  • As a way to ignore large batches of non-responsive material.

What are the benefits of Assisted Review?

  • Time and cost savings. By reducing the amount of data manually reviewed, you spend less time and money wading through volumes of electronically stored information.
  • No training required. Assisted Review is a Relativity Application, so reviewers don’t have to learn another software package or workflow.
  • Flexibility. Assisted Review can be run for first pass reviews or more sophisticated issue coding.
  • Validation. You can be confident in your results. The validation logic can be applied to the human reviewers, as well as Relativity’s decisions.
  • Transparency. It’s easy to understand why Relativity made the decision it made.
  • Comprehensive text analytics. Beyond computer-assisted review, you can cluster documents, quickly find conceptually similar documents with a right-click, do advanced analysis of keywords, etc.
  • Battle tested. Our text analytics tools have been used for close to three years in the field.
  • We do more. Security, scalability, automated review workflows, and productions are all part of Relativity. It is a complete system.

How do I get started?

Relativity Assisted Review is a combination of technology and process delivered via an easy-to-use Relativity Application, which can be imported into your existing Relativity installation. It is compatible with Relativity 7.1 and 7.2 and makes use of a Relativity Analytics index.
